The State of Things
I haven’t posted her very much. A lot of my family and friends are doing the Facebook thing these days so they don’t bother to look here. So this post might be mostly for Matt & Dyan (though I could send a letter I suppose).
How Ambitious Do I Want To Be? This summer I have the option of fast tracking Financial Accounting five days a week from May 26-June12. Then starting June 15 (three days later) I could take Principles of Macroeconomics 6:30-9:15 T/Th (or online at my leisure) and Principles of Microeconomics 6:30-9:15 M/W (or online at my leisure). This is the heaviest course load possible. It’s also worth mentioning that I have a full time job. Right now I’m considering taking the accouting, then taking one of the economics classes on campus and one online, delivering three unique learning experiences. This all means that I’ll be crazy busy and not spending much time on anything else though. It’s very tempting to fast track the accouting and then just take one economics course so that I have a little time to myself for things like novel editing and guitar playing.
Which project should John finish next? I made a lazy attempt to poll friends and family about which project they were most interested in seeing me finish and most people want to see me edit my novel and share it with them. This is the direction I was leaning. The next largest faction suggested playing out, which also intrigues me. I was originally scheduled to play open mic this last Friday, but cancelled when I found out quite a few people couldn’t make it. I knew they would be disappointed if I made my harmonica playing debut without them, so I’m putting it off until last month. Still, the couple hours that I spent practicing Friday really fueled the fire to play. I should probably put my XBox in a box so that it isn’t here on my desk distracting me. I’d sell it on eBay, but I know when it’s snowy and nasty out this winter that I’ll just go buy another one.
To jump, to fall, perchance to dream no more. I’ve been very lazy about organizing skydiving. So many of us are worried about losing jobs, etc. I think rather than try to organize a big group of people to go, I might just go with a smaller group because trying to get all these people on the same page is just a headache. It’s also hard to imagine skydiving when the weather is still crummy. Maybe the shaking dreams I’ve had about chutes not opening has something to do with it too.
All the rest. My printer is on its last legs, but is over five years old now and maybe that’s an acceptable lifespan. A recertified Epson 1400 looks to be the replacement. I can’t find my debit card, have you seen it? A small vocal minority has suggested that procuring a motorcycle be the next project I finish and I found one that is the same make, model, and color as my first one, and half the price of bikes I had been looking at. It’s very tempting. I’ve sold my stake in Citigroup for a profit today, but General Motors remains the bad dog in my portfolio. I should go running, but it is 39°F and raining. If I stay inside does it mean I’m a wuss or practical?

I got pretty solid A’s in Principles of Micro and Macro econ in case you need help. I have a feeling you are good at Econ already though. Why do you need to take these classes anyway?
