Lazy, Lazy Sunday

Well, I’ve done almost nothing all weekend.  This is the first weekend that I haven’t had to write a novel or play a show.  I’m trying to decide what the next big project will be.  Originally I was going to start work on an electric guitar in January, but now it seems like more money than I want to spend on a project and I’ll probably put it off until this spring.

Friday night I went and played at Borders in St. Charles.  It didn’t go very well.  On top of having to follow a really great act, there were a lot of bored faces in the audience and it just sort of psyched me out.  Words failed me twice during my second and third songs.  I didn’t stick around much longer afterward.

It sounds like I’ll be playing another show this New Years.  I’m going to try to learn a few more songs, but I might be taking a break from playing after that.

All this week I’ll be going into work early to cover for my second shift counterpart who is on vacation, but I took off the 26th and now I get the 24th off as well, so I’ll be getting five full days off in a row.  This will be the first time I’ve had five days off in a row in almost three years.  I’m sure I’ll be working on some projects then, even if I have to do some Christmas stuff during that time.
