Word count update: 29,025

I’m a good ways behind where I would like to be.  I’m hoping to surge ahead on Saturday and by midnight Sunday be at 40,000.  I keep taking my laptop to work and writing during lunch.  Sometimes I only get a few hundred words, but I once managed nearly 700.  Every little bit helps.  Unfortunately I won’t get any writing done on Friday.  I’ll be heading into the city to see the Smashing Pumpkins, but after reading about their show in New York, I’m a lot less excited about it than I was two weeks ago.  But Chicago is their hometown, so it has to be awesome, right?
