I’m Doomed
All this week I have been sick. Tuesday was the worst. I’m nearly over it now, but took a night-time cold pill before trying to go to bed this afternoon and I think it might be having the opposite affect. I’m incredibly wired and can’t sleep. On an ordinary Friday afternoon this wouldn’t be a problem because it would be the weekend. However, my second shift counterpart is taking a four day weekend so I have to go in to work to fill his spot in about six hours. NaNoWriMo starts at midnight and I don’t predict my first writing session will go very well since I’m on little sleep, picking up an extra shift, and sick.
In other news, I’m already thinking ahead to my January/February project. I’d like to build a guitar. For years I’ve been threatening to do this, once ruining a nice piece of mahogany and once assembling a walnut bass kit with some success. Thought it’s a small market, I think it would be fun to do hand painted art guitars. Eric Clapton had one. George Harrison had one. John Lennon had one. Jimi Hendrix had one. Billy Corgan had one. Why not you and me? Typically these are a psychedelic affair, sometimes they are airbrushed whatevers, but I’m thinking of doing the mock three color sunburst shown here. I did this up in Photoshop today. I’m still trying to decide how I like it. I’m building it for me with the idea that I would sell it to someone if they wanted it, and then build another one. Or I might just continue to build them for me and stockpile them. Anyway, it’s still just an idea. Guess I’ll try to sleep again.
