Take Me Out To The Ballgame
Well, in just a few more hours I’ll be heading off to Wrigley Field to see the Cubs play the Phillies. I’ve never been inside Wrigley Field, so I’m excited except for the fact that baseball games tend to be long if you’re sober and/or not terribly interested in baseball. Still, I feel it’s a slice of Americana that I should experience. The tickets were a gift from one of our vendors or customers at work so there are four of us going. Apparently I was on a pretty short list of people who were available to attend this game.
On The Graduate School Front
My portfolio is going awful. I find it almost impossible to work on it during weekdays. I hate to say this, but I very well may have to wait to apply for the 2010 school year. There is another side to this, namely that I’m not exactly sure what program I should study.
On Moving Out
For sometime now I’ve been balancing my budget and trying hard to eliminate lingering debt from my days as a real estate agent and other under employment. October should be the month I celebrate paying off everything except my car and student loans, so I was tentatively planning to move around February (instead of rushing things before the holidays). I’ve been looking at ads just to see what was out there and found a two bedroom for $550/mo. in Waterman. This puts me closer to work as well as the city of DeKalb and gives me more room to work on art and music things. Then I just happened upon a small studio loft in downtown Aurora for $600/mo. I think I’m going to check this out as soon as I can. From the pictures it appears marginally bigger than my current bedroom with the sleeping loft elevated to make space on the floor. This would put me closer to my current job and closer to Chicago. I’d be a two block walk from the Metra station and have all sorts of things within walking distance. Aurora gets a lot of revenue from the riverboat casino and apparently there is a health club you can join for $16/month if you live in the city. There are also trails to walk, run, or bicycle all along the river. I’ve also got a lead on a place in Hinckley that might become available soon.
No plans immediate plans for the three-day weekend. Since I had to work a full shift last night, I’ll crash as soon as I get home from the ballgame tonight. In the remaining days I hope to record some music and draw some robots.
